DRIVERS have been criticised for driving through a closed road in Oxfordshire.

The Main Street in West Hagbourne, near Didcot, is closed until Saturday August 27 for on the southern junction between York Road and Main Street.

However, a resident has called out drivers for “sneaking through” the road regardless.

On Spotted Didcot, a post said: “If your usual commute involves driving through West Hagbourne, I recommend you find a different route for this week to avoid the chaos of yet another bunch of vehicles trying to turn around in narrow lanes.”

However, one driver commented that the closure is not “signposted very well” which may be why there are issues.

They said: “It says Main Street closed - who knows that it’s called Main Street? It should say West Hagbourne.”
