This week, the oldest LGBTQ+ venue in Oxford celebrates its 40th anniversary with a week packed full with fun events.

The pub, which is located in Paradise Street, has been an LGBTQ+ owned venue since 1982 and has been a safe-haven for Oxford’s queer community during that time.

To celebrate this huge milestone, The Jolly Farmers is putting on a week of events for its loyal customers.

This is what you can expect:

The week will begin with the pub's usual themed evenings.

Tonight (August 23) there will be a Supper Club event where tasty burgers will be on offer. It is important to note, The Jolly Farmers does not sell food and so you can bring your own in. However, on this evening you will be able to buy food at the venue.

Tomorrow (August 24), those who are confident enough will have the opportunity to get up and perform karaoke. Pull out the Gaga CDs!

On Thursday (August 25), the pub’s quiz night will take place as usual for those who want to put their thinking caps on.

Following this, The Jolly Farmers has a weekend full of special one-off events to celebrate its anniversary.

On Friday (August 26), there will be an 80s disco to kick off the weekend in style, so whip your 80s gear out and get ready to boogie the night away.

Saturday (August 27) will see a huge party take over the pub to officially celebrate the big 4-0.

Finally, the week of celebrations will come to a close on Sunday (August 28) with an ABBA tribute act.
