A retired tropical forester was found hanged at a Summertown care home.
Thomas Wood, 94, died at Lady Nuffield Home in Banbury Road on July 18, Oxford Coroner’s Court heard.
Opening the inquest on Wednesday, senior coroner Darren Salter said Mr Wood was found unresponsive. He was pronounced dead shortly before 2.10pm by a South Central Ambulance Service paramedic.

The cause of his death was given as hanging.
A full inquest will take place on January 11 next year.
Mr Salter said Mr Wood was a retired tropical forester who, prior to his death, had lived in Eynsham.
