MORE fly-tipping has occurred at an infamous litter spot just one week after it was cleared by the council.

Edward Pearce, who lives in Bicester, shared photos with the Oxford Mail of fly-tipping that had taken place in the recycling area in Villiers Road, near to Morrison Daily and Villiers Road Post Office in Bicester.

The spot – previously described as an ‘inner city slum’ – had only just been cleared of fly-tipping waste from the week before, photos of which were also shared by Mr Pearce.

This most recent fly-tip includes a chair, cushions, a blanket and some kids games.

Mr Pearce said: “The council should be doing more to catch the offenders rather than just simply cleaning the mess up.”

Founder of Bicester Litter Pickers Jamie Jessett said: “The councils need to listen to Bicester Litter Pickers voluntary group and the public more when we express these issues.

“They need to get out more and tidy all the bottle banks.

“But as I’ve said in the past and continuously say, they need to put CCTV cameras up at all bottle banks.”

A spokesperson for Cherwell District Council said: “The bring banks are for the recycling of materials such as glass and they are cleared and cleaned on a regular basis by our waste and recycling team.

“Any disposal of other sorts of waste at the bottle banks is illegal fly-tipping and we encourage anyone who witnesses this to report it to us.”
