AN independent bakery has made cupcakes with mini Oxford Mail papers on top to mark the end of Endeavour filming.

Happy Cakes, based in Summertown, baked the cupcakes as the last day of filming season nine of the popular ITV detective drama ended in Oxford today (13).

Pâtissier Julia Atkinson said she has been baking for the cast and crew of the show since 2013. However, ITV confirmed season nine would be the show’s last.

To mark the “end of an era”, the baker made cupcakes with pictures of the Oxford Mail which read: “Oxford will miss Morse.”

Ms Atkinson said: “Filming Endeavour has ended in Oxford forever. Sad it’s over but happy to have had nine years watching and baking for the amazing cast and crew.”
