A man will stand trial next summer accused of assaulting a police officer – in September 2021.
Appearing before Oxford Crown Court on Thursday morning, Connor Fagan, 19, of North Street, Middle Barton, pleaded not guilty to a single count of assaulting an emergency worker by beating him.
Wearing a smart white shirt, he spoke only to confirm his name and his not guilty plea.
Prosecutors claim he assaulted a PC Lewis Symm in Oxford on September 11, 2021. The incident is said to have taken place in the early hours.
Fagan, who was represented by barrister Tom Flavin, was granted unconditional bail by Judge Nigel Daly to return to the crown court on May 10 next year for his trial. The case is expected to last up to two days.
