POLICE officers looking for a man who failed to turn up at court were surprised to find a huge cannabis factory instead.

At about 4.15pm on Monday, officers attended an address in Cranmer Road, Oxford, looking for a man who is wanted for failing to appear at court, and is linked to the address.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson told the Oxford Mail: “A male made off via the rear of the property after officers knocked on the door, but a large cannabis factory was discovered inside, with an estimated 200-300 plants.

“Officers are investigating and ask for anyone with information to call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43220353077.

“Alternatively, provide information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 101 or via its website.”
