Police are hunting for a woman in control of two dangerous dogs after a man in his seventies was bitten on the hand.
The incident occurred at 5.15pm on Thursday, August 4, when the victim was walking his dog in a farmer’s field bordering Enborne Road and Fifth Road, Newbury.
The man walked to the other side of the road to allow a fellow dog walker, who had two rottweilers, to pass.
As they came past, one of the rottweilers bit the victim’s dog.
The man tried to pull his dog away and cut his hand in the process, meaning he had to go to hospital.
He has since been discharged.
Police have now launched an appeal for witnesses following the incident.
The person walking the two Rottweilers is described as a white woman in her fifties with a large build. She had bleached blonde hair worn up and lots of jewellery including earrings.
Investigating officer PC Lisa Hill, based at Newbury Police Station, said: “We would like to appeal to anybody who may have witnessed this incident or have CCTV or door cam footage in the area, to please get in touch.
“You can get in touch by either making a report online or by calling 101 quoting reference number 43220347095.
