The county council has clarified the speed on a road which – confusingly – appears to have two different speed limits.

A photograph taken of the junction of Rawlinson Road and Woodstock Road in North Oxford shows two road signs, one indicating 30mph and the other 20mph.

The road signs are both bent and twisted, suggesting they have been damaged in the past and, as a result, one of the speeds is now showing incorrectly.

This is an issue for drivers turning from Woodstock Road, who might misread the signs and travel at the incorrect speed down Rawlinson Road.

A spokesperson for Oxfordshire County Council has now clarified that the speed on the road is 20mph, rather than 30mph.
