Mums are urging children to take advantage of a Mother's Day video message scheme being run by the Oxford Mail tomorrow.

The paper is encouraging children young and old to create a video recording which will let their mum know just how they feel about them.

Messages can be as corny, silly or funny as you like - provided they are heartfelt and not too long.

Once the messages are recorded they will appear on the Oxford Mail website www.oxfordmail.co.uk on Mother's Day - Sunday, March 2.

Mums will then be able to view the messages as often as they like, as the messages will be saved on the website for posterity.

Carmel Ryan, a mum-of-five from Balfour Road, Blackbird Leys, said: "Kids should make the most of it, and get in there and do it. Just make your mum feel special for the day. It's a great idea."

Sonia Denmark, a mum-of-five from Falcon Close, Blackbird Leys, said: "A message would remind you that your kids really do love you, even though they sometimes treat you like the local taxi, cleaner and chef."

Anyone wishing to record a video message needs to go to Delteys Supermarket in Blackbird Leys Road, Blackbird Leys, between 11am and 1pm tomorrow with the Message to Mummy voucher, printed in tomorrow's Oxford Mail.

Once the voucher has been filled in and handed to our video reporter, you can record a personal message to your mum.

All messages will appear on the Oxford Mail website on Mother's Day - the ideal gift to show you care.
