A new care home has been named by an NHS worker after she won a competition to give the site a title.

Sarah Brown took part in the competition to name the new Care UK home in Stock Road, Thame which will open in December 2023.

The competition called for the people who know the area best, its residents, to share suggestions that had a cultural or historical reference to the town.

Sarah came up with the winning name, ‘Cuttlebrook Hall’, by taking inspiration from an award-winning nature reserve in Thame.

She said: “I’m delighted to have inspired the name of the new Care UK home. The Cuttlebrook Nature Reserve is a true Thame landmark and is one of my favourite places to visit in the town.

“The area is very popular with local residents and something that the people of Thame are very proud of, so it’s great to see it incorporated into the home’s new name.”

As a reward for coming up with the winning name, Care UK has donated £250 to Sarah.
