An outdoor Jubilee show which took place on the hottest weekend of the year has helped to raise money for Ukraine.

Over the hottest weekend of the summer so far, The Launton Village Players concluded the village Jubilee celebrations with a variety show that featured material from all seven decades of the Queen’s reign.

From the 1950’s Oklahoma to A Life Lived with Grace, the song for the Commonwealth, the programme included singing, dancing, poems and other recitations and sketches, some synchronised swimming and a performing dog.

The show was put on in an outdoor theatre in the garden at Hare Ley Farm, on the hills above Launton.

A full stage had been set up, and the audience had shade from the trees, gazebos and parasols.

The show was performed by a cast of 21, including a band of five players.

Overall, the event raised £1,400, which was given to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
