POLICE were called to reporters of criminal damage outside of a takeway on Cowley Road last night.

In the early hours of the morning, at around 12.30am, three police cars and an unmarked vehicle were spotted in front of the Asian grocery shop Tahmids.

Officers attended the incident and arrested a 42-year-old man from Standlake on suspicion of causing criminal damage to a property.

One eye-witness said they saw a man get arrested and taken away in the police car.

Police were guarding the road for around 30 minutes after the arrest.

A spokesperson asked anyone with information on the incident to call 101 or make a report online quoting reference number 43220343746.
