The burned out shell of a lorry cab is all that remains after a blaze took hold of the vehicle this morning.

At just after 5am Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue crews scrambled to the scene of the fire on the A4260 just outside of Kidlington.

The teams from Kidlington Fire Station and Rewley Road Fire Station were faced with, what the fire service described as, a “fully developed fire” in the lorry’s cab area.

The fire service worked quickly to put the blaze out and prevent the flames spreading to the load which the lorry was carrying.

Pictures taken at the scene show the charred remains of the lorry’s cab and the front of the vehicle heavily damaged.
