Emergency services, including two fire engines, are reportedly on the scene of an incident in Oxford

This afternoon Stagecoach Oxfordshire posted a service update for bus users, warning them of a reported incident in Headington.

The alleged incident saw a road in the area temporarily closed but it has since been reopened.

The bus company tweeted: "#Oxford Service Update - Headington Shops Reports of an incident with emergency services on the scene. Road temporarily closed but now reopened. Please allow extra time on 8, 10, 700 and Oxford Tube services as this clears. Thank you."

Mataid Yazbani, who works at Coco Noir on London Road, told the Oxford Mail "a couple of fire trucks" were on the scene and "stopped in the middle of road".

This was also reported by a member of staff at The Oxford Framing Gallery, who said he saw a fire engine on London Road.

Thames Valley Police and Oxfordshire County Council, which oversees the fire service, were contacted for comment.

Both were unable to provide information about the incident.

We will bring you more as we have it.
