A youth accused of dragging a woman into an Oxford park and raping her remains in custody today.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the attack on a 19-year-old woman as she walked along Between Towns Road yards from Cowley police station at about 8.30pm on Saturday.

Officers believe two young Asian men and a man in his 60s near a kebab van may have seen the suspected rapist who police believe was using a silver bicycle.

So far, none of them have come forward.

Police said after the rape the attacker marched his victim to a nearby cash machine where he tried to make her withdraw money.

But she managed to raise the alarm by alerting door staff at The William Morris Wetherspoon's pub.

The attacker is described by police as about 6ft tall, wearing a dark jumper with multi-coloured horizontal stripes and a baseball cap and said to be 16 or 17 years old.
