A BARN caught on fire yesterday (20) afternoon including 20 large bales and a store of wood.
Crews from Chipping Norton Fire Station, Hook Norton Fire Station and Burford Fire Station were called to the fire in Chipping Norton at 4.30pm.
On arrival, crews found the contents of the barn to be “well alight”. They used both hose reels and main jets to suppress the fire and then worked hard to drag out and damp down the contents to ensure it didn’t reignite.

A spokesperson for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Even though the hot sunny weather has passed for now, conditions are still very dry so please avoid discarding any rubbish or smoking materials as fires can start very easily at the moment.”
