Extinction Rebellion will stage a protest in Oxford city centre tomorrow afternoon (July 21).

The environmental group will protest about climate change outside the Barclays bank on Cornmarket on Thursday between 12pm and 2pm.

Members of the global environmental movement will also take to the city centre next Thursday (July 28).

A spokesperson for the group said: “Feeling the heat? It's clear the terrifying temperatures we are experiencing here and across Europe are raising awareness and concern about the Climate Emergency.

“Let's seize this moment to send a message to Barclays about their continued funding of climate chaos.”

Extinction Rebellion was established in May 2018 by Gail Bradbrook, Simon Bramwell and Roger Hallam, along with eight other co-founders from the campaign group Rising Up!.
