Two venues in Oxford have been handed new food hygiene ratings in the latest round of inspections by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

The FSA rates establishments which sell food on a one to five scale, with one being the lowest and five being the highest.

The White Horse, a pub at 52 Broad Street, was handed a three-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 10.

Zilly Canteen, a commercial canteen at South Lodge, South Parks Road, was given a score of four after it was also assessed on June 10.

Established in 2000 following several high-profile outbreaks of foodborne illness, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) is the independent government department working to protect public health and consumers’ wider interests in relation to food in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
