A neighbourhood policing team made a visit to a school to help promote a ‘drug-free environment’.

The Bicester Neighbourhood Policing Team, along with Safer Schools Officer PC Rob Kelly attended The Cooper school on Thursday, July 14.

The team were there as part of a joint operation with the school to promote a drug-free environment; one component of a multi-agency safeguarding approach.

Dog handler Michelle Nash was accompanied by Scamp the dog as part of the operation.

A Thames Valley police Cherwell spokesperson said: “It was an opportunity for the students to ask questions about Michelle’s role, and of course, Scamp enjoyed the attention.

“We also visited all the classes from years 7 right up to the sixth form, to talk about the risks of misusing illegal substances and the legal consequences of drugs offences.”
