PARENTS of pupils at a school in Abingdon have been warned after a man was seen approaching children outside a supermarket.

Staff at John Mason school in Wootton Road sent an email to parents notifying them about the incident, which happened outside the Tesco Express on the same road.

The email said: “We would like to bring to your attention some suspicious activity. Some Year 12 students have reported that they had been approached by a male adult outside the Tesco Express on Wootton Road.

“He was asking their age and if they wanted a lift to school. They declined and observed him approaching other young females.

“They heard him telling other girls he was 26. This has been reported to the police. Please talk to your children and remind them to be vigilant.”
