A DEFIBRILLATOR has been “taken” from a park in Wantage.

The life-saving piece of equipment, which was attached to a sports building in Memorial Park off Manor Road, was found missing this week.

To use the equipment someone would need to call the emergency services to unlock the plastic case containing the defibrillator.

However, the lock was allegedly broken on the case containing the equipment which is used to send an electric pulse or shock to the heart to restore a normal heartbeat.

The defibrillator was funded by Wantage Tennis Club and Wantage Bowling Club which hold sessions at the building.

In a post on the Wantage and Grove Community group on Facebook, a member of these sports clubs has put out a plea for the equipment to be returned.
