A man was fined more than £600 after travelling on a railway without paying £10 for a ticket.

Kamakshi Sheodaan, of James Wolfe Road, Oxford, must pay a total of £674.30 after trying to avoid a £10.30 train fare.

The 19-year-old did not pay for his ticket on January 31, 2021, and was caught in Oxford.

Oxford magistrates, who found him guilty in his absence, ordered him to pay a fine of £440, plus compensation of £10.30 to Great Western Railway.

He must also pay costs of £180 and a £44 victim surcharge.
