A COMMUNITY action group is organising a free event where people can get their clothes mended to avoid throwing them away.

Abingdon Carbon Cutters is running the session at the town’s county hall museum in Market Place on Saturday (July 2) at 10:30am.

People are asked to bring one item of clothing they would like to mend.

The group works to help reduce the carbon footprint of Abingdon in response to climate change and promotes a sustainable and resilient lifestyle for the town.

They meet at 7.30pm on the third Wednesday of each month, usually at St Ethelwold’s House, on East St Helen Street, for expert talks, practical workshops and discussions.
