A woman who stabbed her landlady in the hand was warned she faced a lengthy spell behind bars.

Appearing before Oxford Crown Court on Monday morning, Raquel Villa-Rodriquez, 49, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

She stabbed her landlady in the thumb at a house in Courtland Road, Rose Hill, on May 21.

Remanding her in custody to return to court on July 28 for sentence, Recorder John Hardy QC said: “In this case, the gravity of the offence and the offending behaviour mean that you will inevitably face a custodial sentence of some length.”

Having been told the defendant had no previous convictions in the UK, he ordered a pre-sentence report from the probation service.
