I am writing to thank you and to encourage you to continue to highlight the appalling situation we find ourselves in.

I have lived in Oxford for 25 years and I cannot believe that the freedom and use of our roads has been stolen from us, causing division, anger, and discrimination!

I have seen people on the street shouting at each other, others taking the law into their own hands (on both sides).

I have never seen such anger before. The pollution from cars stuck in traffic is causing both me and my grandson problems.

We have both increased our blue inhaler usage.

Oxford Mail:

It is impossible to get out at peak times, I have an unseen disability and I need my car.

Across the board, people have been inconvenienced, travel times doubled at least.

It took me 40 minutes to get from Iffley to Temple Cowley to take the grandsons to the dentist!

At the children’s hospital last month, we were late for an appointment, we still went but the nurse informed us that most people had missed their appointment time so were just not turning up. This must be causing loads of problems and will not be helping the waiting lists.

Oxford Mail:

There has been no consultation, no thought about the knock-on effects this would/has caused such as:

1: Ambulance men parking up and running with all their equipment to the caller’s address.

2: Carers being unable to get to their place of work easily and on time.

3: Tradesmen deciding they will not accept work on certain streets as it takes them too long to get there.

4: Delivery drivers being stuck in traffic for hours on end.

5: Buses late because of traffic congestion

We are fortunate to live in a beautiful city, rivers and canal paths and loads of green spaces.

Why do we need to have the roads turned into flower boxes to make room for yet more cyclists?

Oxford Mail:

The council and the left wing have hijacked our roads.

I understand from your article that the next step is to prevent us from crossing the city.

Oxfordshire County Council want to install more bus gates. They have obviously realised they can get serious revenue from the unknowing public.

The ring road will soon be full of tourists trying to get away on their holidays to add to our gloom.

We will be prisoners in our neighbourhoods.

Oxford has become a hostile city; it will not take people long to stop coming here.

The shops will not have customers.

The tradesman will work out of the city.

I apologise for this rant!

Please continue to highlight this problem.
