An alleged drug dealer’s plea hearing was adjourned – after he was unable to have a conference with his barrister.

Damion Williams, 28, was before Oxford Crown Court on Friday morning for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

Prosecutors say he was concerned in dealing heroin and crack cocaine in the county between last July and May 25 this year.

His barrister told Judge Nigel Daly that he had been unable to have a video conference with his client, who is currently on remand at HMP Bullingdon, and asked for the matter to be adjourned.

Judge Daly obliged, remanding Williams, of Mayville Road, Ilford, in custody to return to court on July 7 for an adjourned plea hearing.
