FIREFIGHTERS are currently dealing with a fire in Port Meadow.
Crews from both Oxford fire stations and another from Abingdon raced to the Oxford beauty spot this morning.
The 999 call first came in at 8.14am after somebody spotted smoke coming from several bales of hay.
In pictures, smoke can be seen coming from a pile of hay behind a wooden fence in between the woodland, next to a metal shelter.
A firefighter wearing breathing equipment and fluorescent uniform is seen to be spraying the fire down with a power washer.
Writing on Facebook, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue warned walkers that the emergency services would be dealing with the incident for ‘the next couple of hours’.
