A man who was "all over the road" and nearly crashed into an oncoming car has been disqualified from driving for a year.

Lee Price, 33, of Church Close, Islip, was stopped by police who saw him driving slowly and in a manner that suggested he may have been intoxicated on the A361 near Burford.

He was disqualified from driving for a year and fined at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Monday (20/6).

He pleaded guilty to one count of driving a motor vehicle while over the prescribed limit of alcohol.

At around 10pm on 22 May, officers watched Price driving at a significantly slow speed for the 60mph limit, veering all over the road and almost colliding with an oncoming car.

He stopped his vehicle and failed a roadside breath test and was arrested.

Price was charged on 23 May.

PC Cory Fastnedge, based at Witney police station, said: “Drink driving is not acceptable and Price is lucky that he was not involved in a serious or fatal collision as a result of his actions.

“Even the smallest amount of alcohol can influence your ability to drive safely. It is not worth the risk.

“If you know someone who drives under the influence of alcohol, please report this to police by calling 101 or if they are driving or about to drive under the influence then call 999.”
