An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing in Greater Leys, Oxford, this afternoon (24/6).

The man, from Oxford, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs and possession of an offensive weapon, and remains in custody.

A search of a property in Greater Leys was executed, where a large quantity of cannabis and possible class A drugs were seized.

Also seized were weapons, including a machete and kitchen knife, scales, bags and a mobile phone.

Detective Inspector Ryan James of the Oxford Priority Crime Team said: “This warrant is as a result of our community reassurance efforts in and around Blackbird Leys and Greater Leys.

“We are relentless in pursuit of those who seek to deal drugs and use weapons and violence to facilitate criminal activity and the harm they are causing to our communities.”
