AN OXFORD college has asked the council if it can put up a marquee inside the Grade II listed gardens for BBQ’s and drink receptions.
St Anne’s College on Woodstock Road said the marquee will only be ‘temporary’ and will be put down on August 7 after 52 days.
In the planning application, developers at the college – which boasts notable alumni including ex-Oxfordshire MP Nicola Blackwood, asked to install the tent like structure in between the trees on the lawn.
The marquee will only be around 410sqm and would be set up for business conferences happening over summer.
It will only be used until around 9pm at night for BBQ’s and drink receptions which will happen without music.
