Dance students from City of Oxford College performed live at a very special event to mark the 75th anniversary of the Oxford-Bonn link.

Eight students studying the Performing Arts Level 3 Extended Diploma at the Oxpens Road campus, performed a piece choreographed by second-year student Nia Aristide on the Dance Stage at Gloucester Green on June 18.

The performance was inspired by Nia’s final major project where second-year students choreograph pieces in the style of their favourite choreographer.

This performance was in celebration of the choreography of renowned artist, Parris Goebel.

Nia said: “My inspiration for the piece was from famous choreographer Parris Goebel and her dance crew The Royal Family, as they always have such high energy, fun and upbeat performances and I wanted to recreate that through my own choreography.

Oxford Mail:

“The performance at the event went really well despite the rain. There was a good crowd and environment, which was nice for all dancers.”

The students performed alongside other dance and music groups from across Oxfordshire throughout the day.

Ruth Jones, dance teacher at City of Oxford College, said: “The students did really well to perform so professionally, despite the rain.

"There was a large audience of members of the public which is always good experience for them.”
