A 47-YEAR-OLD man has been fined for driving after taking ketamine.

Sam Heslop, of Cumnor Hill in Oxford, was caught driving over the speed limit in his Audi Q7 on November 19, 2021, in Basildon, Essex.

When stopped by police on the A127 in Basildon, they also found Heslop had 84ug/l of ketamine in his blood stream which exceeds the limit of 20ug/l by more than three times over.

Appearing by video link, he pleaded guilty at North Essex Magistrates' Court earlier this month and was fined £80.

Heslop has also been disqualified from driving for 12 months as well as being also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £85 to be paid to the Crown Prosecution Service.
