The first day of three days of planned rail strikes this week has seen the frequency of train services across Oxfordshire reduced, but what has been the impact on the roads? 

This afternoon Oxford Railway Station was quieter than normal and with fewer trains running. 

Figures published by location technology firm TomTom showed the level of road congestion at 8am this morning was higher than the same time last week in several cities, as more people took used their cars to get to work.

How the roads are looking in Oxford? 

So far today, the roads have coped well with traffic not much higher than normal levels.
