A 32-YEAR-OLD man has been charged after strangling a woman in Oxfordshire this month.

Alex Ninescu, of James Close in Upper Heyford, was charged on Thursday (16) following an investigation by Thames Valley Police.

He was charged with intentional strangulation in connection with an incident on the same road he lives in on Wednesday, June 15 in which a woman was strangled.

Ninescu appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court the following day (16) and was granted conditional bail to appear before the same court on Wednesday, September 14.

Meanwhile, Thames Valley Police are also investigating two males who were arrested in Abingdon Town Centre last night (20) after they were reported for public order incidents.

They have since been released under investigation.
