A driver who was reported to police for allegedly drinking alcohol whilst driving has been arrested.

Thames Valley Police officers from Bicester located the vehicle on Lake View Drive in the town yesterday afternoon (June 17).

The vehicle was seized by the officers for having no insurance.

The driver also provided a positive drug wipe for cocaine and was arrested.

Under the law, if you are convicted of drug driving you could get get:

  • a minimum one year driving ban
  • an unlimited fine
  • up to six months in prison
  • a criminal record

If you are in charge of a vehicle while above the legal alcohol limit, you may get:

  • Three months’ imprisonment
  • up to £2,500 fine
  • a possible driving ban
