People looking forward to celebrating Father’s Day on Sunday may have noticed special banners which have popped up around Oxford.

The Father’s Day themed signs, which spell out the words ‘Best Dad’, have been placed in trees around the city by community champion Amir Steve Ali.

Mr Ali explained the reason he put the banners up is to celebrate that dad’s are “real superheroes”.

He said: “I did this to remind everyone on this Father’s Day to look back and remember how much hardship, love and care fathers have put in to help raise us.

“My heart goes out to the ones who no longer have their dad around.

“If you’re your dad is in a care home, hospital or lives far away, go and visit them if possible and enjoy Father’s Day.”
