Twins Lesley and Pauline Tull enjoyed showing off their artistic skills at their home at Wheatley.

Little did they realise that one of their creations would be prominently displayed in their mother’s office at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford.

Avril Tull needed something to hide the bare patch on her office wall while the room was being redecorated in 1972.

The poster of birds and animals her 11-year-old daughters produced proved to be the colourful remedy.

It also caught the eye of the hospital’s house governor, Mr Harvey, who arranged for it to be framed.

The twins were delighted with the response to their work and decided to create more posters.
