A prisoner is accused of throwing boiling water into the faces of two fellow inmates.

Oxford Magistrates’ Court heard Shaun Page, 21, was said by prosecutors to have gone into another prisoner’s cell at HMP Bullingdon on July 28 last year with a kettle in his hand and threw the contents at the occupant of the cell.

The following day, he was said to have thrown a mixture of boiling water and baby oil in the face of another prisoner, who had just arrived on the wing and was walking up the stairs when he was allegedly assaulted.

Page, of no fixed address, faces allegations of causing actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon within prison.

The defendant was not present for the hearing at the magistrates’ court on Wednesday. The case was sent to the crown court of a plea hearing on July 8.
