A THIRD boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of a 21-year-old man in Banbury Park.

Police officers made the third arrest of a 16-year-old boy from Banbury this afternoon (13) and he remain in custody.

Two others, a 15-year-old boy from Oxford and 16-year-old from Banbury, also remain in custody on suspicion of attempted murder following an extension that was authorised today.

The arrests are in connection with an incident in People’s Park, Banbury, on Saturday afternoon (11) in which a 21-year-old man was stabbed.

On Sunday, the victim was in hospital fighting for his life but he is now in a serious but stable condition.

Meanwhile, the park has re-opened to the public.  

Witnesses have been asked by police to call 101 quoting reference number 43220255119.
