Firefighters rescued a trapped deer after a dog walker found it stuck in a metal fence.

A dog walker came across a muntjac deer that had got itself trapped in metal fencing this morning (June 13) in Bicester and called emergency services for help.

Firefighters came to the deer’s rescue and using battery powered tools, crews from Bicester Fire Station released the deer back into the wild.

Fortunately, the deer only suffered minor injuries from where it had tried to free itself from the metal fencing.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue service posted pictures of the deer on Facebook and said: “We are pleased to report it has now been reunited with its nearest and deerest.”
