A man caught with thousands of indecent images of children will learn his fate on Friday.

Marian Burlan, 58, was due to be sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday afternoon for having the cache of more than 45,000 images, having pleaded guilty at the magistrates’ court.

But the case had to be adjourned until the end of the week as an earlier case overran and the Romanian interpreter explained that a prior appointment in Reading meant she was unable to stay until the end of the court day.

Recorder John Ryder QC apologised to the defendant and his barrister, Gordana Austin, for having to put the case back.

Burlan, of Main Road, Long Hanborough, who had gone into the dock with a large suitcase, was bailed to return to court on Friday, June 10.
