SCORES of people took to Witney’s streets on Saturday for the town’s first ever Pride march.
The event came 50 years after the first Pride march in London, celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people.
Marchers gathered outside the Methodist church in the High Street at midday before walking down to Church Green. Entertainments on The Leys after the march included live music and games.

Ahead of the event, Witney Pride director Beth Sherlock described it as a ‘momentous occasion’.
"Diversity and inclusion are vital to our society and we want to be visible for and on behalf of those who are not out yet for any reason,” she said.
"We are here, we are queer and we deserve equality and acceptance.”
