Train passengers have been fined hundreds after getting caught without a ticket.

Three people with registered addresses in Oxfordshire have been fined for traveling on a train without buying a ticket first.

Eduardo Costillo Pacha, 28 of Dene Road in Headington, was fined more than £200 after traveling in Oxford in December 2021 without a ticket.

Pacha appeared in Reading Magistrate’s Court on April 28, 2022 and was fined £220 and ordered to pay a compensation fee of £56.70 and costs of £150. The total amount to be paid by May 12 was £426.70.

Julian Gunnett, 48 of Wilsdon Way in Kidlington was caught without a ticket at Bracknell railway station in Berkshire in September 2021.

Gunnett appeared in East Hampshire Magistrate’s Court on April 8, 2022 and was fined £220. He was also ordered to pay a compensation fee of £3.50 and a surcharge of £34, totalling £397.50 to be paid by May 6.

Anne Lee, 40 of Power Park in Banbury, was also fined more than £200 after she boarded a train in Basingstoke without a valid ticket in June 2021.

Lee appeared at Portsmouth Magistrate’s Court January 25, 2022 and was fined £220.

She was also ordered to pay a compensation fee of £25.70, a surcharge of £34 and costs of £140. This totalled £419.70 to be paid by February 22.
