The force has now confirmed that the search was in connection with a Basingstoke murder investigation.

Oxford Mail:

Detectives had been called at 11.14pm on Sunday, May 22, to a property in Musgrave Close, Basingstoke, where 31-year-old dad-of-two Frantisek Olah was found with serious injuries and later pronounced dead.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: “As part of the investigation, officers carried out enquiries at an address in Cowley Road, Oxford. The scene has now closed.

“We’d like to thank local residents for their patience while we carried out our enquiries.”

Two teenagers have been charged with murder. Ismaila Kamarra-Jarra, 18, of Milton Close, Basingstoke and a 17-year-old boy, also from Basingstoke, were due before the magistrates’ court today.

Oxford Mail:

A further two teenagers from Basingstoke, an 18-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and have been released under investigation.

“Enquiries are ongoing,” a police spokesman said.

Earlier this week, victim Mr Olah’s family paid tribute to him.

“Words cannot describe the grief and shock our family is experiencing,” they said.

We are devastated. We have lost our beloved Frantisek. He was a son, a brother and a father.

“We express our deepest gratitude to those who are working tirelessly to obtain justice.

“Frantisek's legacy will live on through his two beautiful and amazing children."

Local councillors told the Oxford Mail's sister paper the Basingstoke Gazette of their shock at the violent death in the Brighton Hill area of the town.

Cllr Andy McCormick, said: It is quite a quiet community in Brighton Hill.

"My thoughts go out to his friends and family at this time.

"Sadly Basingstoke is not the place it used to be and these things are happening more often but it is a quiet area and things like this are quite rare in Brighton Hill."

Fellow ward councillor for Brighton Hill Cllr Andy Konieczko, added: "It is a shock and unexpected as it’s an area where people of all ages live from old to really young.

"It is such a lovely friendly area and as councillors we spend a lot of time in Brighton Hill so I am sure it will be shocking to everyone.

"It is just so out of character for the area and I am thinking of the family of the man who has sadly died.”

DCI Justin Dipper of Hampshire Constabulary said: “We know this incident will be concerning for the local community, and we are working hard to establish the exact circumstances of what took place.”
