Cllr Levy said: “Active travel, including cycling, is a key part of Oxfordshire County Council’s plans.

"We need to make sure it is safe, direct, and attractive, that we have good facilities in the city, in our market towns, and in the spaces in between.

“There is a lot to do to make cycling in Oxfordshire as good as it should be, and I intend to make sure that the county council and other stakeholders get on with delivering the infrastructure we need.”

The avid cyclist is not new to the role, having previously served as West Oxfordshire District Council’s cycling champion.
