A teenager caught using a blue flashing light on the A41 has appeared before a crown court judge.

Joshua Bullock, 18, pleaded guilty at the magistrates’ court last month to falsely suggesting he was a police officer.

The then 17-year-old driver, who only had a provisional licence, was caught behind the wheel of a Jaguar XF on the A41 near Junction 9 of the M40 on October 2 last year when the car was fitted with a blue flashing light.

Last month, Bullock, of Observatory Street, Oxford, admitted a number of other offences including making off without paying for £30-worth of fuel in Bicester on September 30, driving otherwise in accordance with a licence, repeatedly driving without insurance and failing to stop for a police officer on Woodstock Road, Oxford, on October 30.

The teenager appeared before Oxford Crown Court on Thursday afternoon, when he was due to be sentenced for his various crimes.

However, both prosecutor Sophie Murray and defence advocate Kellie Enever jointly asked for the matter to be put back to await unrelated legal matters.

Ms Enever also said her client would be doing his A-level exams next month.

Judge Nigel Daly, the presiding judge dealing with the case this afternoon, granted Bullock bail to return to court on July 6 for a mention hearing.

Bullock, who appeared in the dock wearing a roll-neck jumper and sports blazer, was given an interim driving disqualification by the magistrates in April.
