A PETITION to remove the Cowley Road and East Oxford roadblocks has reached over 1000 signatures in under 72 hours. 

The barriers, on streets off Cowley Road, are part of a six month Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) trial taking place in the Divinity Road, St Clement's, and St Mary's areas.

It follows a similarly controversial scheme in Cowley.

A petition set up on May 20, the first day of the trial, has since been signed by 1149 people as of 5.30pm today. 

Mossy Rana, who started the petition is fighting against both the East Oxford and Cowley LTNs. 

Interestingly, a petition started in a year ago to remove road closures in the Church Cowley, Florence Park & Temple Cowley areas of Oxford has been receiving new signatures in the past three days.

This comes as LTNs set up in the East Oxford trial were knocked down by members of the public within hours of being set up.
