Morris Radiators nominated two hostesses to lead a Quality and Reliability Year.
The firm, which made accessories for Cowley-built cars at its factory in Woodstock Road, Oxford, handed £50 and other prizes every month to reward staff for their productivity.

They drew the names of the cash prize winners in May 1967 out of a blue silk bag. First name out was foreman Charles Pickford, who received £10.

Others given cash awards included Miss K Couling, John Gascoyn and Harry Garlick.
Deputy foreman James Meeks won the monthly slogan competition and received £5 with ‘Make no mistake, QRY (Quality and Reliability Year) does spell success’.
