A pensioner died when her VW hatchback crashed near Thame, Oxford Coroner’s Court heard.
Cynthia Gomme, 81, was driving her silver Volkswagen Up when it was involved in a collision with a Toyota Yaris on the A418 at around 1pm on February 20.

Opening an inquest into her death on Wednesday afternoon, senior coroner for Oxfordshire Darren Salter said that Ms Gomme’s death was verified by air ambulance medic Dr John Pike at the scene at 1.37pm.
Ms Gomme was an occupational health therapist who lived in Thame Road, Sydenham, prior to her death. She was born in November 1940 in High Wycombe.
A full inquest will be held on October 18.
The purpose of an inquest is to establish the identity of the person who died and the circumstances surrounding their death. They are typically held following an unnatural death.
